My name is Richard Taken, founder and flavor expert behind our beef jerky. Born in California and raised on the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii, I developed a deep passion for cooking inspired by the island’s rich and diverse flavors, as well as its vibrant culture. For nearly ten years, I honed my culinary skills working in some of Kauai’s most popular kitchens, including Common Grounds, Kenji Burger, and Bone to be Wild. Each of these experiences taught me invaluable lessons about balancing flavors and crafting truly great food that people love.
The leap from chef to entrepreneur was fueled by a deep passion for perfection and an enduring dream to share my unique culinary creations with the world. Thus, after two full years of meticulous flavor development and countless rigorous taste tests, I proudly introduced a distinctive line of beef jerky that is as unique and inviting as the beautiful island itself.
